Adventist

Part of Christianity. Introduced 1831 CE.

Founded by William Miller, a farmer and wartime infantry captain from Massachusetts, USA who began to preach in 1831. He believed that Jesus's second coming would occur in 1843. After that date they revised their belief and stated that Jesus would return when God had completed his examination of the names in the book of life, a task which began in 1843.
